Added some links...

Hey, we are making some progress here, I added some links of places you will most likely find me checking out.

The RPF is home base to my prop interests... as time goes by I will post links to some of my friends collections to check out.

The Drawing Board you will find me lurking quite a bit. Why? Well, because I have not really posted any of my art on the net yet... so I still call myself a lurker on that board even though I have provided some critique to other artists, I don't think it holds much water unless I get my own work posted there.

The rest of the links thus far are to artists I have enjoyed or emailed back and forth with for a while. Dean Yeagle is one of the nicest guys out there.

I hope, hope, hope, my friend Ryan (who I met through my wife) will get a website going at some point soon for his work; he is a really talented person who has done a few t-shirts for Weezer and Billy Idol... his Static X work still blows me away.

The second post...

I have a prop replica project that is coming to a close, it is the Blade Runner Deckard Badge. Yes, I have some diverse interests and this is one of them. The badge was made for me recently by a badge maker on the east coast. Another talented east coast guy, goes by the call sign Phase Pistol was the graphic designer for the ID. The ID on this thing is first rate, it is really amazing how detailed the information on it is. Phase did an amazing job and it was great to work with him.

This is the first time where I have been more of a coordinator on a project than the artisan.

The first post..

This is the first post, of my first blog for the eventuality that I may have a first reader.

Although this may look like a lot of empty space right now, I intend on filling it shortly with projects that I am working on and sharing other interests that I have. Eventually this blog will be linked to the website I am building, but like my blog, it is currently an empty page waiting to be crafted.

A bit about me, I am a 28 year old artist hobbyist who has a real passion for illustration and movie prop replicas. I have been doing both character illustration and graphic design for several years, but I have yet to publish anything substantial. My thought was that if I could create a blog it might help me motivate myself to actually start posting works that I have done as well as encourage me to work on such projects more than I have been doing in the past year. I feel that I have put my relatively boring career in finance way ahead of my passion, which has left me feeling quite empty as of late.

Moving on...

This blog will from time to time mirror that on my space, but I am hoping to keep this much more specific to my passions and not just day to day banter.
